There’s a day in honor of one of the most perfect foods?

I don’t eat doughnuts, even Krispy Kremes. (Yes, I’ve tried them hot, several times.) However, I do eat beignets and ollebollen, mostly because they remind me of malasadas. Grandma and I used to make them from scratch, deep fry them, and roll them in sugar.
Malasadas are also sold as fundraisers in Hawaii and, well, I’d never pass one by. Hey, it’s for a good cause.
But I’ve now learned that there is a dedicated day to one of my favorite foods…check out Kim’s post at outriggerhawaii.com. I want this to be my second birthday.
